1.1.       Background of the Study

Every culture and organization needs appropriate information to thrive in the 21st century. Information has a considerable influence on decision making, and consequently its worth is tightly related to the choices that follow from its utilization. Information does not have an absolute universal worth. Its worth is tied to people who use it, when it is utilized, and in what circumstances it is used. Information is a fundamental and crucial resource required to build other resources in every functioning company. Changing situations and settings have required the requirement for access to information for efficient decision making at different levels of management in the company. Information may be treated as an abstract idea, commonly in the form of reports. Essentially, knowledge has become a key resource which is important to the wellness of people and businesses in the current world.

The creation and usage of Management Information Systems (MIS) is a contemporary phenomena concerned with the utilization of relevant information that will lead to improved decision making, consequently better outcomes. A manager’s performance is highly based on the presence and usage of an effective support such as a management information system. Management information systems might be characterized as a system or process that delivers the information essential to manage a company efficiently. According to MIS full (series 2); MIS outputs allows a management to make strategic judgments and informed choices that define an organization’s future vision and purpose.
