CHAPTER ONE

• BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Hamdala hotel was established in the year 2007 in Sokoto North Local Government area, Sokoto state, with the aim of accommodating about five hundred (500) number of people (customers) it was made up of five (5) buildings, the first building is four recitalist and it also serves as restaurant while the other building contain rooms that are used for accommodating guest (customers).

The present day city king hotel has been renovated and expended to ultral – modern hotel due to the rapid development and high growth rate that is been experienced in Sokoto North Local Government area, Sokoto.

• SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

1. This study will address the problem of time was find in allocating hotel accommodation
2. It will address the problem of double allocating of rooms in the hotel.
3. To compare the manual process and computerized process of allocating rooms in the hotel so as to choose the best method, manual process is very tedious.

• PURPOSE OF THE STUDY

1. The main purpose of this project is basically to create dynamic and easy process of hotels accommodation system there by making the bank easier for the customers accommodation all the available rooms in the hotel.
2. Design a computer device hotels, accommodation system for accommodated hotel room to customer.
3. To generate report on hotel occupancy.
4. To improve data security when booking a room
5. It help in easy recording, and file accessing

• SCOPE AND LIMITATION OF THE STUDY

There are some factors beyond the control of the research that introduced some limitation of the scope of this project work. The level of information from the hotel was not permitted form an extensive survey finally, another limitation of this study is adequate financial support.

• STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

The existing system has the following problems listed below.

1. There is time wasting as a result of manual process.
2. There may be problems of double allocation of a room

• The manual process does not account for the number of space/rooms allocated and the number not allocated.

1. Manual process is very tedious

This research work is going to design a computerized system, capable of providing solution to the problem listed above.

• RESEARCH QUESTIONS

1. Does hotel accommodation have enough accommodation space for their customer
2. Does hotel accommodation contributes to criminal offence
3. Does the present system meet the specific requirement in the organization.

This is the process of translating a problem into a programming language

DATA PROCESSING

It is an act of transforming a data into a information.

DATA

They are raw facts which is mean less i.e. it is at rum used to described basic facts.

Disk (address)

The location (position) of a hotel record, magnetize disk storage.

FLOWCHART

This is a diagrammatical representation of sequence of step taken to solve a particular problem.

This is a physical computer component you can touch
